ABC KTNV News: Local Resident wins HDSA Person of the Year
At the 36th Annual Huntington's Disease Society of America (HDSA) Convention, HDSA announced that Las Vegas resident Yvonne Sweeten won the HDSA Person of the Year award. This award recognizes an advocate, voice for HD, and a leader who inspires others who are affected by Huntington's disease (HD) each and every day.
Yvonne has shared her story openly with pharmaceutical companies and scientists engaged in novel research so they can understand the complexities of HD. She has also been apart of HDSA's Las Vegas Affiliate assisting with the Las Vegas Team Hope Walk as well as other fundraising and educational events.
